hello…
Proper introductions begin with names so let me tell you mine — it’s Nick Harsh. Yes; after nearly three decades of life, I’ve heard every pun associated with my name that you could possibly imagine — no seriously.
I’m a follower of Jesus and husband to Rachel. I worship and serve at Cornerstone Church and am a Ministry Leader with The Salt Company in Ames, Iowa. I love writing and this site is a creative outlet for me to think publicly about things I find interesting.
I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and received my undergraduate degree in 2015. After college, I served on staff at Soteria Des Moines for about six years. During that time, I receive both a Master of Arts in Theological studies and a Master of Divinity from Clarks Summit University. I also had the opportunity to intern with The Gospel Coalition.
For me, writing is both how I think and how I know what I think. The thoughts on this site are a little glimpse into my head. Welcome, I’m glad you stopped by. Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly and I’m certainly not immune to poor writing. But as Ben Franklin once said, “If you would not be forgotten as soon as you’re dead and rotten, either write things worth reading, or do things worth the writing.” My hope is that the things you find on this site are worth reading.
In addition to writing here, I have had the opportunity to do writing/curation with The Gospel Coalition. I have also been published a few times on For The Church and RELEVANT Magazine. It’s a privilege to write and an honor to have my work read.
